Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Design or a related field
  • More than 5 years of experience in mechanical design
  • Familiarity with the manufacturing processes of relevant components, including sheet metal and welded structures
  • Proficient in sheet metal design, 3D modeling, and 2D drawing
  • Skilled in using PLM systems
  • Proficient in industry-standard 3D modeling and analysis software
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal
  • Fluent in Japanese, with spoken Japanese sufficient for workplace communication (N2 or above preferred)
  • Self-motivated, able to manage projects independently and ensure project objectives are achieved

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the mechanical and component design process, from conceptualization to detailed solutions
  • Create high-quality 3D models based on concept designs
  • Collaborate closely with the virtual analysis team; improve designs according to FEA results to meet all functional requirements
  • Select geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and perform tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Understand cost structures of components and take responsibility for cost-reduction design initiatives
  • Produce detailed 2D drawings in accordance with company standards
  • Maintain technical documents within the PLM system on a regular basis
  • Strictly adhere to all product development processes
  • Assist internal clients in resolving PLM system-related issues
  • Review and check drawings as requested by the product department
