Responsibilities
Provides a high level of customer service to Members, answers questions, recommends deli items, answers calls, takes special orders, helps select products, and samples products
Slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products including meats and cheeses
Prepares and packages special orders and party trays
Receives and inspects deli shipments
Displays, stocks, rotates, and stores deli products following food safety, freshness, and handling policies
Ensures all products are fresh, meet quality standards, checks for out-of-date products daily, and follows product salvage policies
Ensures deli cooler shelves and display cases have a wide variety of product and stocks/rotates items as necessary
Operates and handles deli equipment per safety policies
Cleans and sanitizes deli equipment and food surfaces throughout the department, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler
Maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli, including display cases
Ensures scale systems are in proper working order (inferred from context)
