Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in control system architecture and implementation for large-scale data centers. A strong knowledge of industry standards and compliance for mission-critical facility operations is required, along with proven expertise in automation and industrial control system protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC, SNMP, and LON. Hands-on experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI/SCADA systems is essential, as well as a deep understanding of data center operations and control system integration. Candidates should possess the ability to quickly develop and implement reliable control software and extensive experience in data center monitoring, HVAC, power, and mechanical system controls. A track record of selecting and managing external vendors and consultants is necessary, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering or a related field, with advanced certifications preferred.
The DC Controls Engineer will develop and implement control system architectures for data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, HVAC, and mechanical systems. They will lead software integration for control and monitoring systems, ensuring compliance with industry codes and safety standards. The engineer will oversee the design, testing, deployment, and maintenance of control solutions for new facilities, while also managing external vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure high-quality deployment and maintenance. Collaboration with engineering teams is essential to align control systems with operational needs and efficiency goals, as well as optimizing telemetry and controllability to enhance scalability and automation in data center operations.
