Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL
Strong skills in database administration (installation, configuration, and maintenance)
Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques
Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions, including database recovery tools
Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance regulations
Proficient in SQL and experience with PL/SQL or T-SQL
Understanding of database clustering and high availability configurations
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain database systems, ensuring they are configured for performance and reliability

Enforce security measures to protect databases from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities
Collaborate with developers to optimize database queries and improve application performance
Execute database changes, including migrations, upgrades, and patches, while minimizing downtime
Document database configurations, scripts, and procedures to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing
Stay updated on the latest database technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements
