Requirements

Candidates must be a US citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, and have at least four years of database administration or engineering experience, with the option to substitute ten years of database engineering experience for the degree requirement. Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL/PLSQL, general SQL, JavaScript, Bash/Linux shell scripting, Perl, and Python is required, as well as knowledge of Java and commitment to best practices.

Responsibilities

The Database Engineer (DBE) / Administrator (DBA) will support database design, development, implementation, information storage & retrieval, data flow, and analysis activities, assisting in the development of databases and database structures. They will translate requirements into usable database schemas by creating or updating queries and scripts, and assist in developing database structures that fit into the overall system architecture. The role involves supporting data migration, replication, user administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, issue investigation, and general administration, while also developing requirement recommendations from project inception to conclusion and collaborating effectively within a team in a fast-moving environment.
