Requirements

  • Relevant experience or a degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics or another quantitative subject area
  • Previous experience in working as a Data Scientist for consumer-facing digital product development (strongly preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and great stakeholder management
  • Expert in data visualisation and presentation, with ability to interpret information into clear actions and strategy
  • Ability to tackle loosely defined problems and develop relevant analytical approaches and impactful insights
  • Proficiency with Python or similar programming languages
  • Experience with Google BigQuery and expertise in SQL
  • Hands-on knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and experimentation at scale, including application to digital products
  • Ability to sharpen questions, develop hypotheses, and collaborate with non-Data Scientists to clarify assumptions and influence decisions
  • Extensive experience using various analysis techniques, such as linear and logistic regression, significance testing, and statistical modeling

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with fellow Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and cross-functional teams (product managers, engineers, designers, user researchers) to identify and answer key product questions via data
  • Partner in building and delivering innovative product features that create valuable and engaging listening moments for Spotify users
  • Perform analysis on large sets of data to extract impactful insights about user behaviour and product usage to drive product decisions and guide strategy
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders within the team and across Spotify
