Position Overview

Muon Space seeks a Data Platform Software Engineer to develop and operate a robust platform for data and ML pipelines utilizing satellite and geospatial datasets. This role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, integrating scalable cloud resources, and employing modern software practices to support climate change monitoring and mitigation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Scale and maintain Muon’s data workflow orchestration platform.
• Collaborate on and improve data and ML pipelines.
• Provide expert support and maintain knowledge of data platform solutions.
• Collaborate with satellite and payload engineering teams to establish data requirements for Muon Space data products.

Qualifications

• Applicants are required to be U.S. persons.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building and maintaining container orchestration software platforms.
• Experience using CI/CD processes for software and GitOps processes for infrastructure.
• Experience using modern observability technologies for application and infrastructure monitoring.
• Experience interacting with internal and external customers and service providers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Building APIs at scale for data access.
• Proven experience in systems analysis, troubleshooting, and design, with a strong understanding of the interplay between hardware and software.
• Production experience with common geospatial data formats.
• Experience working with a distributed team of developers.
