Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, or cloud service delivery roles
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure Data Platform, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines, and SSIS / SSAS integration
  • Familiarity with data lake, ETL/ELT, and data governance principles
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and its integration with Azure data sources
  • Experience in managing Data & BI services within a Managed Services environment
  • Understanding of Agile delivery and ITIL-based service management practices
  • Location flexible yet strong preference for Newcastle based due to client requirements
  • Willingness to travel to Newcastle for 3 nights each quarter

Responsibilities

  • Own the Azure Data & BI service roadmap, backlog, and delivery outcomes
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, define, and prioritize analytics opportunities
  • Translate business requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of Azure Data Platform services (Synapse, Databricks, ADF, SSIS/SSAS)
  • Manage service performance, stability, and enhancements in alignment with SLAs
  • Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
  • Participate in data governance council discussions and support governance initiatives
  • Provide input on reporting and visualization standards using Power BI and related tools
  • Drive automation, cost optimization, and proactive monitoring through Continuous Service Improvement (CSI)
  • Communicate roadmap progress, KPIs, and improvement plans to customer and internal stakeholders
