As a Data Analytics Engineer, you’ll be part of our Global Trade Compliance team working as a hybrid employee. The Stanley Black & Decker (SBD) Global Trade Compliance team is comprised of professionals who ensure adherence to global import and export regulations while improving cash flow, increasing supply chain speed, and reducing risk. We deploy a comprehensive global trade compliance program that adapts to the changing regulatory environment and business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Use statistical analysis and/or data-mining tools to analyze performance, identify insightful trends, and interpret technical data into meaningful recommendations.
- Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and store trade compliance data from various internal and external sources.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytical tools to support compliance monitoring, risk assessment, and audit readiness.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual compliance processes using data engineering and scripting techniques.
- Serve as functional subject matter expert for analytic and performance reporting tools.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to identify BI needs and work closely with GTC and other functional teams in developing processes and systems required to execute associated solutions.
- Build and foster relationships with key internal users and become a trusted resource & provider of analytics.
- Work closely with Trade Compliance, Legal, IT, and Supply Chain teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet regulatory and business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or a similar role.
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Jupyter Notebook).
- Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., MariaDB (Appian), Snowflake, MS SQL Server).
- Experience with Automation tools (e.g., Automation Anywhere).
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or other programming languages.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Appian).
- Experience in Microsoft Power Platform, such as PowerApps and Power Automate.
- Familiarity with the Appian platform for process automation and integration.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for source control, build, and release pipelines.
- Experience with project and requirement management tools like Appia, Azure DevOps.
- Must have strong Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Access knowledge.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
