Candidates must be proficient in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets, possessing strong analytical and pattern recognition skills for large, messy, or multi-source datasets. Experience reconciling financial or transactional data, ideally in an e-commerce or payments environment, is required, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in fast-moving environments. Clear communication, high attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset are essential. Bonus points are awarded for experience with DBT or similar ETL frameworks, familiarity with Stripe, Shopify, Fivetran, Parquet, S3, DuckDB, comfort navigating REST APIs and programmatically transforming data, prior exposure to tax, compliance, or accounting-related data, and a background in operations, finance, or technical customer success.
The Data Analyst will reconcile financial and transactional data from multiple sources to enable accurate sales tax filings, and normalize customer data across platforms to ensure integrity in tax workflows. They will partner with Sales, Engineering, Product, and Solutions teams to troubleshoot and resolve onboarding data issues, and support customer-facing teams with ad hoc data questions, investigations, and insights. This role also involves building internal tooling and processes to streamline reconciliation and improve onboarding throughput, as well as improving the fidelity and performance of DBT pipelines and contributing to the broader data architecture.
