Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program, preferably in animal breeding, genetics, genomics, applied statistics, or data science
- Experience working with large datasets (e.g., demographics, phenotypes, genotypes); familiarity with GWAS
- Proficient in programming (R, Python, etc.) and comfortable working in High Performance Computing environments
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to learn from a dynamic and evolving industry
Responsibilities
- Gain familiarity with Zoetis Genetics research pipelines and available datasets
- Explore and evaluate methods to accelerate genomic predictions for existing dairy products
- Implement genomic data analyses and develop reproducible, well-documented pipelines using R and/or Python, suitable for deployment in commercial environments
- Summarize project outcomes in a technical report and present findings to the Research & Development team
