Requirements

  • At least 2 years experience in the landscape industry, preferably in a maintenance/garden environment
  • Demonstrate acceptable level of basic plant recognition and horticultural knowledge
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment operation, including but not limited to, all lawn equipment (mowers, trimmers, pruning shears, etc.)
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety and practicing safe work behaviors
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with crew, clients, and other associates
  • Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions
  • Must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license
  • Experience in a leadership role would be advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage daily job site operations for efficiency and quality
  • Enforce and maintain strict safety standards and procedures
  • Identify basic landscape plants and understand plant care
  • Basic Pruning Knowledge is ideal
  • Maintain accurate records field documentation (Timekeeping (workday), Vehicle Inspection Form, Service Notification Cards)
  • Operate and maintain equipment safely and effectively
  • Safely transport crew and equipment to job sites
  • Cultivate a high-performing 3-4 member offsite crew, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency through consistent adherence to established work methods
  • Provide mentorship and training, empowering team members and leaders-in-training to achieve collective success and exceed client expectations
