Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant
  • Confidence liaising with people at all levels

  • Experience using digital tools such as Alteryx and Tableau (advantageous but not essential)

Responsibilities

  • Act as Financial Controller for part of the Asda business
  • Manage the accurate and timely production of financial information for internal/external reporting, including compliance with group accounting policies and procedures
  • Manage the related financial control environment
  • Review financial performance on a monthly basis with Commercial Finance customers including clear articulation of variances to plan/forecast
  • Maintain an awareness of risk management issues across the Asda business
  • Lead cross functional projects to enhance the control environment
  • Use large volumes of data to continually refine and improve understanding of the numbers and evolve financial control
  • Work with business partners and Commercial Finance teams on new business initiatives to ensure financial reporting impact is understood and financial controls are robust
  • Review of month-end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Delivery of process improvement within the team, looking for opportunities to make processes more efficient
