Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or landscaping environment
  • One year of continuous employment with the most recent employer
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) license
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste or smell
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Willingness and ability to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Tolerance for exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, outside weather, risk of electrical shock, vibration, toxic/caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and loud noise levels

Responsibilities

  • Hydrolyzing raw meat and blood
  • Sizing
  • Running machinery that processes meat into meat meal
  • Transferring hydrolyzed meal to storage
  • Keeping work area clean and free of clutter (housekeeping)
  • Using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Using the correct tool for each job assignment
  • Reporting injuries of oneself or coworkers to management
  • Reporting job hazards immediately (correct when possible) and documenting
  • Inspecting all tools and materials for defects and safety issues
  • Following all safety rules and guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
