Requirements

Candidates must be a CPA with strong GAAP knowledge and possess over 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and leadership at a high-growth startup. Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes and controls from scratch is essential, along with comfort in a hands-on, player-coach role. Bonus points for experience in retail, automotive, or an inventory-driven space, or a passion for EVs and the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

The Controller will own the closing process, including journal entries and reconciliations, and manage daily accounting operations such as AP, AR, payroll, and cash flow tracking. They will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and improving accounting processes and internal controls, overseeing accounting systems, and partnering with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. The role also includes spearheading lender reporting, board reporting, external audits, and tax filings, with the opportunity to build and lead the Finance & Accounting teams over time.
