Requirements

More than 5 years of professional experience in a large accounting firm and/or industry experience
CPA designation
Experience with complex revenue recognition (project accounting, software accounting)
Experience with IFRS standards
Intermediate to advanced skills with Excel and good practical knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
Good proficiency in French and English (required for frequent oral and written communication with colleagues, clients, and partners in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and the United States)

Responsibilities

Review the accounting of complex software contract revenues in accordance with IFRS 15, including regular review of work-in-progress schedules (WIP)
Review account reconciliations, analyze results, and prepare reports for senior management on a monthly and quarterly basis
Assist business and operational managers in developing monthly forecasts
Act as a business partner by providing support and analysis to business and operational managers
Manage, coach, and mentor a team of finance professionals
Ensure internal controls are in place, identify potential risks, and controls to mitigate them
Identify, improve, and standardize financial processes
Prepare audit requests and respond to questions during interim reviews and year-end audits
Handle special projects and ad hoc reports (e.g., due diligence and integration of new acquisitions)
Lead a team of finance professionals already in place and oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
Work closely with operational teams and senior management of the supported business unit as a trusted business advisor
