Requirements

  • BE Civil
  • Additional qualification like Postgraduate in Contract Management is preferred
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to read and understand construction plans
  • Minimum 18-20 years construction industry experience of which at least 15 years has been in procurement and should have handled multiple projects
  • Knowledge of complete tendering process and familiarity with Contract Management, Standard Tender conditions and exposure to Indian and International conditions like FIDIC
  • Exposure to turnkey contracts and projects like commercial buildings, IT Parks, Hotels, Residential, Hospital etc. is essential. Exposure to claim management & taxation
  • Excellent analytical, strategic, leadership, communications, and writing skills
  • Good team player

Responsibilities

  • Develop / draft general & special condition of contract
  • Maintain and implement construction proforma / budget for each project
  • Identify contract material requirement (based on project plans and lead time) and timely procurement of the same at the most economical rate without compromising on quality
  • Ensure and maintain effective vendor relationship to get the best deals for the organization
  • Increase use of lower cost logistics and distribution channels
  • Conduct procurement analysis, supply risk assessments, demand and supply market analysis and supplier evaluation
  • Provide MIS report
  • Install a system of inspection in contract to ensure that materials received are as per specifications
  • Establish a system of pre-qualification of vendors & suppliers
  • Research new materials for design and cost savings
  • Develop and implement new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification
  • Assist in maintaining company quality control program
  • Handle change order requests and claim management
  • Ensure accurate take-offs so that budgets are accurate
  • Ensure compliance to project budgets and provide analysis of deviations
  • Assist in settling invoice or contract disputes
