Responsibilities

  • Creates in-depth, compelling internal communications and positioning on a range of subjects, including Vanguard products and services, divisional strategy, crew engagement, community stewardship, and DEI
  • Displays versatility in producing clear communications through a wide range of styles and channels, including responsive web pages, campaigns, emails, presentations, blogs, videos, letters, articles, and social media
  • Presents and "sells" content and design solutions to leadership, project teams, partners, and stakeholders
  • Assumes a leadership role on key projects for the department that require data analytics and subject matter expertise, including responsive web pages, timely communications, campaigns, visioning, testing, and news
  • Provides creative direction and guidance on messaging and/or content strategy across mediums—working closely and collaboratively with designers, writers, developers, and business leaders
  • Informs department's processes by identifying recurring issues for future improvements
  • Serves as mentor to less experienced writers by providing specific feedback on their copy, story ideas, new media formatting, and interviewing skills
  • Researches and stays up to date on the latest developments in content trends and crew/consumer behavior
  • Maintains calendar of project deadlines and content launch dates, ensuring consistency
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
