Candidates must have experience working on Army or Department of Defense (DOD) construction projects. A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards, DOD safety regulations, and military base safety protocols is essential. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail are required, as well as the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
The Construction Safety Manager will develop, implement, and manage safety programs and policies for construction projects, ensuring compliance with OSHA and DOD safety regulations. They will conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments on construction sites, enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and provide safety training to site personnel. The manager will investigate incidents and accidents, collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to maintain a safe work environment, and stay current with safety regulations specific to military and DOD projects. They will also serve as the primary contact for all safety-related matters on-site.
