Requirements

  • Located in Western Massachusetts
  • Experience in construction field management and inspection for transmission lines and substations
  • Ability to supervise Transmission Construction Representatives
  • Knowledge of project plans, specifications, codes, state/local siting conditions, contract documents, environmental regulations, and safety regulations
  • Ability to work with Project Managers, Engineering, Scheduling, Contract Administration, Transmission Group managers, CONVEX, Legal, Purchasing, and field staff
  • Capability to manage onsite oversight of transmission and distribution facilities
  • Willingness to work extended hours during certain phases of construction projects
  • Ability to provide storm/ERP support as required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of construction field management and inspection for transmission lines and substations in Connecticut and Massachusetts
  • Supervise Transmission Construction Representatives
  • Ensure safe and timely completion of work meeting Eversource's quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with environmental programs, policies, rules, and regulations
  • Direct safety awareness and compliance initiatives; monitor safety and environmental performance of contractors
  • Observe and inspect construction contractors to ensure adherence to specifications, codes, regulations, and standards
  • Manage contract field construction and maintenance activities in accordance with project documents, engineering practices, laws, and industry standards
  • Perform safety observations to ensure contractor compliance with Eversource safety standards
  • Provide daily reports to Construction management on project progress, cost, schedule, procurement issues, safety/environmental concerns, design questions, and potential impacts
  • Attend, participate in, and lead scheduled project meetings
  • Review project material requirements, identify unordered items, and coordinate material delivery to sites
  • Request and hold NRAs (Non-Reclose Agreements)
  • Review, request, and approve written switching instructions and hold clearances
  • Provide substation escort for non-qualified individuals
  • Validate contractor timesheets, invoices, and change orders/change management
  • Act as a mentor/trainer to other department members
  • Attend meetings and project updates with customers as appropriate
  • Handle project reconciliations and close-out activities
  • Interface with stakeholder and outreach coordination team to ensure adherence to non-regulatory commitments
  • Support storm/ERP as required
  • Conduct onsite construction briefings and prepare reports on project status, schedule, and uncertainties
