Requirements

  • Performs quality work within deadlines with limited direct supervision
  • Willingness to travel roughly 90% of the time with company-paid travel and accommodation from site to site, with 10% remote office support as business needs warrant

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises assigned Construction Managers (CMs) and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
  • Regularly reports to Manager of Construction Management and assists with the planning of assigned work
  • Oversees a portfolio of projects to ensure safe execution, quality installation, on-time performance, and adherence to project budget
  • Leads and mentors CMs to improve individual and team performance to deliver on company commitments
  • Ensures CMs are trained in and implement the company’s Safety Program and OSHA regulations
  • Supports CMs with subcontractor safety issues, performs on-site safety audits to document compliance, and addresses safety issues
  • Ensures CMs are trained in the implementation of company’s QA/QC to support quality oversight, ensuring subcontractors use correct techniques and standards per company drawings
  • Manages CMs’ training and certifications as outlined in the company’s training matrix
  • Serves as CMs’ first point of contact for all day-to-day needs
  • Supports CMs in subcontractor management and maintaining relationships
  • Assists CMs in budget and projection updates for Project Manager
  • Supports CMs in scheduling activities that drive construction for both the company team and subcontractors
  • Supports CMs in evaluating and managing procurement activities that facilitate construction progress
  • Reviews and ensures timely submittal of required daily/weekly and ad hoc reports, including documentation from customers and/or subcontractors
  • Interprets policies as required
  • Supports Project Manager or CMs to address site-specific construction issues and bring resolution through increased site presence
  • Manages logistics of CMs’ needs, such as transportation, communications, office materials, and job-specific requirements
  • Supports job supervision on specialized equipment installations
  • Provides temporary CM duties during rotation trips or when no CM is available for the project
  • Provides input on organizational structure, employee performance, employee development, and disciplinary actions
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Manager of Construction Management
