Requirements

  • Current or past credentials as a Designated Mechanic Inspector Records (DMIR), Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR), or M-Unit member
  • 10+ years of experience in quality inspections and/or quality engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, regulatory representatives, and certification authorities
  • Experience with conformity inspections throughout the prototyping, manufacturing, and post-production lifecycles. (Preferred)
  • Experience with rotorcraft. (Preferred)
  • Experience as an FAA delegate. (Preferred)
  • Onsite in El Segundo, CA, with some travel expected

Responsibilities

  • Conduct conformity inspections of parts, assemblies, test setups, test articles, and installations according to FAA regulations
  • Guide engineering, certification, and supply chain on practical standards and methods to ensure conforming products and processes
  • Identify corrective actions to address unsatisfactory results (unsats) and escapes
  • Help develop and implement processes and procedures necessary to execute certification programs, including support for Operational Data Analysis (ODA) development
  • Coordinate inspection activities with engineering, certification, supply chain, DERs, and DARs to ensure alignment with production and testing schedules
