Requirements

University law degree (Master or comparable level)
CIPP/CIPM or comparable privacy certification considered a plus
Minimum 7 years’ experience in global data privacy law and practice in a global company, preferably in technology and IT sector
Experience and expertise with major national data privacy legislation and cross-border privacy issues
Proficiency in English (both spoken and written)
Knowledge of Information and Communication Technologies or a technology degree or qualification
Experience in monitoring privacy trends and developments and translating those into actionable requirements
Demonstrate data privacy and data security expertise and command of global data privacy and related laws
Demonstrate strong project/program management and operational skills to lead cross-functional projects, especially in a multi-cultural environment
Ability to effectively work with others remotely, manage a schedule with global stakeholders, and conduct privacy reviews
Limited travel required as needed (usually <10%)

Responsibilities

Conduct Privacy by Design reviews for new or existing internal projects and/or business and other data privacy compliance strategic projects on regional and global scale
Provide subject matter expertise and support to internal corporate and business functions globally in respect of data privacy, legal compliance, privacy risk management, and privacy by design
Partner and interact with key business stakeholders and senior individuals to ensure data privacy issues are considered at the outset of new services, offerings, projects, products, and initiatives
Conduct legal research, interpret, and apply a risk-based assessment of how legal requirements affect new services, offerings, projects, products, or initiatives
Build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, in particular with legal and business teams, and interact with clients as needed
Effectively work with regional and local stakeholders to create and maintain suitable privacy review processes and embed privacy by design methodology into relevant business processes
Effectively work with other Data Privacy team roles on global Data Privacy initiatives and projects
Stay abreast of legal and regulatory developments related to data privacy and adjacent fields/areas/topics, including technology trends and developments and their impact; develop guidance, training, and thought leadership for internal audiences
