Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Criminal Justice, Family Studies, Counseling, Recreational Therapy, Human Services, Human Development & Family Studies, Child Development, Gerontology, Behavioral Science, or Rehabilitation Counseling
  • OR Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree from an approved institution
  • OR At least four years of work experience in a related human services field (e.g., case management, residential support, developmentally disabled support, vocational rehabilitation), or a combination of education and experience equaling four years
  • OR Qualified Addictions Professional (QAP) certification (CADC, CRADC, CRAADC, CCJP, RADC-P, RADC, CCDP, CCDP-D)
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Reliable vehicle and acceptable recent driving record

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and activities to clients through an organized treatment plan designed to ease their transition into community living
  • Utilize a supportive, educational approach to promote improved functioning and encourage recovery and resilience
  • Coordinate comprehensive follow-ups for clients, including outreach and engagement as needed
  • Employ advanced knowledge of psychological concepts, evidence-based interventions, and coordinate mental health services with community partners
  • Use specialized knowledge of behavioral science principles, such as motivational interviewing, reinforcement, operant conditioning, and cognitive processing
  • Spend time in the community, visiting clients in their homes, clinics, and other locations
