Requirements

  • 10+ years of communications, public relations, or corporate affairs experience in a complex, technical, or regulated environment
  • Proven ability to translate technical or engineering-heavy content into compelling narratives and media stories
  • Strong media relations track record with trade, business, or technology press
  • Experience selecting, evaluating, and managing external agency partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally (Engineering, Sales, Leadership) in a fast-paced scaling environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and executive presence
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to shift quickly in high-growth, mission-driven companies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a proactive communications strategy aligned with Astranis’s commercial launches, government wins, and brand growth
  • Build and maintain media lists (trade, business, tech), secure placements, and coordinate executive interviews and speaking engagements
  • Be the owner of crisis and rapid-response communications: monitor narratives, prepare contingency plans, brief leadership, and manage stakeholder comms during incidents
  • Craft compelling narratives and content: press releases, bylines, newsjacking, and social and owned campaigns that turn technical innovation into accessible, compelling stories
  • Oversee product launch, company wins, and event-related communications
  • Manage agency / contractors and build the internal team long-term
  • Monitor, measure, and report communications performance
