Requirements

  • Willingness to comply with SOPs for safe processing and deboning of birds
  • Ability to perform processes accurately for proper data collection
  • Flexibility to be assigned to live hang, evisceration, deboning, or swapping positions
  • Ability to operate high pressure and regular water hoses and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Compliance with specific guidelines for R&D projects
  • Willingness to sign and abide by Company Animal Welfare Guidelines
  • Ability to perform physical demands: regularly lift 10-30 pounds, use wheeled dollies for up to 300 pounds, stand majority of shift on concrete floor, walk, sit, use hands bilaterally with full dexterity, reach, balance, stoop, talk/hear, grasp steadily; specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, adjust focus)
  • Ability to work on wet, slippery surfaces in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments
  • Use of personal protective equipment: safety goggles/glasses, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, rubber boots, company-provided facial covering; NIOSH N95 respirators and arm protectors as needed
  • Previous agricultural or production experience preferred
  • Must reside in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Process and debone broilers in a research processing plant for data collection and R&D projects
  • Comply with SOPs to safely process and debone birds
  • Ensure all processes are performed accurately for proper data collection
  • Operate in assigned positions including live hang, evisceration, deboning, or swap among them
  • Use hand tools such as permanent marker, scalpels, scissors, meat thermometers, knives
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all safety protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may change at any time
