Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience preferred
Willing to work Monday-Thursday, shifts starting 4:30am-5:30am until job complete, averaging 35-40 hours/week, including holidays; schedule subject to change
Must shower, change clothing and footwear before entering biosecure facility; company provides appropriate clothing/footwear
No jewelry except medical ID; body piercings covered by clothing
Willing to sign agreement avoiding avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.)
Willing to sign and abide by Company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines
Able to perform physical demands: regularly lift/stack chick boxes up to 15 pounds (using wheeled dolly), occasionally push/pull stacks up to 125 pounds; stand majority of shift on concrete floor; walk; sit; use hands; reach; balance; stoop; talk/hear; close/distance/color vision
Use safe lifting techniques; willing to perform with or without reasonable accommodation
Pass background check if required

Responsibilities

Transfer chicks from boxes to grading wheel (25%)
Grade newly hatched chicks for defects (25%)
Operate robot to vaccinate and beak treat birds per customer order (25%)
Perform toe trim for identification if required (15%)
Dub/mark male birds per customer order (5%)
Other duties as assigned (5%): process byproduct chicks, euthanize weak/ill birds per company policy, despur male birds per order, fill in for lead, mix day one vaccine, clean day one lab, check nitrogen level/refrigerator temperature, make gel, keep vaccine inventory, operate high pressure/regular water hoses, maintain clean/organized work area, wash robot parts
