Candidates must possess experience in Windows OS, Active Directory, SQL Server, and PowerShell. A strong understanding of database design and architecture, including schema design, normalization/denormalization, and data partitioning/sharding strategies, is required. Experience with performance optimization, query tuning, indexing, and database monitoring tools with proactive alerting is also necessary. While not mandatory, experience with PostgreSQL and knowledge of network infrastructure, the Microsoft Azure platform, and SQL Server are advantageous. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential, as is a willingness to learn new technologies and practices and a resourceful approach to problem-solving.
The Cloud Database Administrator will be responsible for analyzing and resolving customer business processing issues, identifying root causes, and implementing preventative measures. They will utilize structured approaches, tools, and processes, along with advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills, to quickly and effectively solve problems. This role involves working with infrastructure, virtualization, operating systems, and the application stack, and offers opportunities to learn skills in Azure, DevOps, and troubleshooting. The administrator will also be involved in monitoring and maintaining MS Windows Server environments and utilizing automation and scripting tools.
