Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
  • Provide hands-on instruction and mentorship to ensure competency in patient care skills
  • Create and update educational materials, including lesson plans and competency checklists
  • Assess CNA performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement
  • Coordinate orientation for new CNAs and ongoing education for current staff
  • Ensure compliance with state and facility regulations for CNA training and certification
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify training needs and implement solutions
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, evaluations, and certifications
  • Coordinate education for new employees, assuring timelines meet regulatory standards and facility policy
  • Retain required documentation for education requirements and assure quality standards exceed DOH and BON requirements
  • Complete onboarding with new employees and follow pre-determined timelines for completion
  • Assure all staff complete education and certification within set timelines (LMS, skilled nursing facility, assisted living, annual requirements, role-specific)
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with facility policies and procedures within RN scope of practice
  • Maintain a high level of clinical competency and act as a role model to staff
  • Work closely with leadership and staff to ensure care delivery meets policy, procedure, and expectations
  • Consult with other units and health care professionals to improve care
  • Actively participate in staff transition from classroom to clinical setting
  • Collaborate on content and operational design of orientation, clinical competency, and other educational programs
