Clinical Data Entry Operator, Tier 1

Position Overview

Natera is seeking a Clinical Data Entry Operator I to join the operations team. This position involves performing data entry according to standard operating procedures (SOP) with high efficiency and accuracy. This is a remote position.

  • Hourly Rate: $18
  • Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, Day Shift 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM PST

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry for a specific product and case type with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Quality control information provided in the Laboratory Information System (LIMS) to ensure proper accessioning.
  • Accurately enter patient data into the Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS).
  • Ensure that the information in LIMS is up-to-date.
  • Verify that all provided paperwork belongs to the correct patient.
  • Add clear notes and holds to identify and flag missing or discrepant information.
  • Communicate electronically with various internal departments.
  • Be available to work holidays if required to meet department Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Protect patient health information (PHI) at all times to ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy policies.
  • Maintain familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOP) and quality standards determined by the clinical laboratory.
  • This role involves regular handling of PHI in both paper and electronic forms and requires access to various technologies to perform job duties.
  • Complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, general policies, procedure compliance, and security within the first 30 days of hire.
  • Maintain current status on all Natera training requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • BS/BA degree (preferred).
  • Previous computer experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Flexibility in work time and shift as the schedule may be modified to meet operational requirements.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and Google Product Suite.
  • Proficiency in numeric, oral, and written language applications.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including excellent knowledge of correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute with high accuracy.
  • Ability to perform required duties with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to stay focused on assigned tasks.
  • Ability to handle challenging circumstances and a results-oriented approach.
  • Adaptability to change and a self-starter mentality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively amidst competing priorities to meet goals and objectives on time.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and a positive, service-oriented attitude with the ability to work well with others.
  • Understanding of when and how to escalate issues appropriately.
