Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the field. Fluency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English is essential. The role requires 85% travel and is not eligible for relocation assistance or sponsorship. Preferred qualifications include clinical experience in Ophthalmology, a COT Designation, experience in Refraction/Refractometry, knowledge of A-Scans and Biometry, and experience with Refractive LASIK surgical devices.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Applications Specialist will provide technical and clinical training and support to surgeons and operating room staff on Alcon's Cataract and/or Refractive Surgical Device products. They will offer on-site and/or remote clinical application support, ensuring customers have scientific and technical information regarding the approved use of Alcon medical devices. Responsibilities include managing equipment and software upgrades, documenting site visits accurately in a CRM tool, reporting adverse events and device deficiencies, and responding to unsolicited requests for information. The specialist will also collaborate with Field Service Engineers and Sales Representatives to coordinate training and support, provide feedback to R&D on product performance, and attend/support medical congresses and conventions as needed. Achieving clinical certifications to meet job requirements is also part of the role.
