Position Overview

Valon is seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Reporting Data Analyst to join our Client Services team. This role is crucial for enhancing data-driven reporting, ensuring accurate and timely insights are delivered to both internal teams and external clients. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing client reporting processes, translating reporting requirements into automated data solutions, managing data pipelines, and building automated dashboards. Your work will directly contribute to improving the overall client experience through data transparency and operational insights. Experience in the mortgage servicing industry is highly preferred.

Client Services at Valon

The Client Services team is the primary point of contact for all client interactions, from onboarding to ongoing support. This team ensures client needs are met promptly and accurately, playing a critical role in client satisfaction as Valon scales.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain recurring internal and client-facing reports and dashboards using tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improving servicing operations performance.
  • Automate routine reporting tasks to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather reporting requirements and ensure data solutions align with business and client goals, reflecting specific metrics and KPIs.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies or reporting issues.

Requirements

Ideal Background

  • Previous experience in cross-functional reporting analyst roles; experience in servicing client support reporting roles is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of mortgage servicing concepts, including subservicing contracts, investor guidelines, and MSR ownership responsibilities.
  • Advanced experience working with Google Suite, Jira, Looker, and SQL.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience at a mortgage servicer or financial technology company.
  • Previous experience working with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project. Experience creating and refreshing slide decks linked to SQL tables is a bonus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot a wide array of ambiguous problems.
  • Ability to work with, lead, and consult with all levels of the organization.
