Requirements

Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have 2-3 years of experience in FMLA or unpaid leave claims management. Strong decision-making, critical thinking, medical/vocational management, and excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally are also necessary. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Claims Specialist will guide claimants through their leave experience with empathy and clarity, focusing on FMLA, state, military, and company-specific leaves, as well as non-Short-Term Disability paid leaves. Responsibilities include analyzing FMLA and company leave policies to determine eligibility, communicating clearly and professionally via phone and email, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. The specialist will also participate in team-based problem-solving, manage assigned work queues within defined SLAs, and support additional projects as needed, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
