Requirements

  • Experience in client, broker, and stakeholder engagement
  • Skills in talent development, training, and recruitment in Aerospace claims
  • Understanding of Total Cost of Claim management, reserving, payment, and settlement authority
  • Compliance with governmental regulatory and AIG Corporate claims governance guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Hull, Light Aviation and Vertical Unit team, including direct reports of approximately eight adjustors across the US
  • Serve as people manager and technical referral point for NA Aerospace claim team
  • Engage with significant clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders, including reporting loss trends and risk management opportunities
  • Develop talent within the team and ensure operational excellence
  • Adjust a selection of the department’s most complex claims
  • Collaborate with NA Aerospace Claim leaders, Global and NA Aerospace underwriting, and stakeholders for consistent, efficient, customer-centric service
  • Provide strong technical Aerospace claim leadership for general aviation sub-class, focusing on Total Cost of Claim management
  • Delegate reserving, payment, and settlement authority per Global guidelines
  • Communicate, update, and maintain compliance with AIG Litigation Claim guidelines; engage AIG Legal and host litigated claim roundtables
  • Work with Specialty leadership and Head of NA Aerospace Claims on resource levels and skill sets
  • Report NA Aerospace major claim casualties and catastrophes timely and accurately
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Global/NA Regional Aerospace underwriting, actuaries, finance, reinsurance, customers, and brokers
  • Support underwriting in account management and new business development
  • Review and recommend improvements to best practice guidelines and claim adjustment procedures
  • Maintain superior team skills through technical training, industry updates, and recruiting top talent
  • Lead AIG’s North American Aerospace claim industry thought leadership via seminars, programs, and events
  • Identify and report claim trends, lessons learned, and risk management opportunities to stakeholders
  • Support Head of NA Aerospace Claims on projects and initiatives
  • Ensure team compliance with regulatory and AIG governance guidelines
