Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited institution and 4-8 years of experience as a Civil Engineer. They must be proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, demonstrate strong technical skills in grading and storm water design, codes, and regulations, and have a thorough understanding of design requirements for Chicago and Chicagoland area. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office programs is also required, as is current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.). Deltek Vision and experience as a manager or lead are considered a plus.
The Civil Engineer II/III will perform mid to senior level design on site development projects under the supervision of Milhouse management, which includes designing site grading, site drainage, site modeling, storm water management, conveyance calculations, force main design, pump design, underground utilities design, engineering reports, plan production, specifications, and cost estimating. They will prepare project documents and reports, perform quality checks on their own and colleagues’ work, lead multiple small to mid-sized projects with deadlines, assist management on proposal development, and communicate effectively with clients and peers through written and verbal communication. Additionally, they will perform geometric layouts, prepare cost estimates, analyze material costs, and utilize appropriate tools and software for design calculations and analysis.
