Requirements
- Meet state requirements to work as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure required by the State Board of Pharmacy)
- Hold an active/valid national certification certificate issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT)
- Ability to move, lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week, 5 days/week) or part-time (up to 33 hours/week, 5 days/week) anytime between 7am–7pm (1st shift), 3pm–3am (2nd shift), or 10pm–10am (3rd shift), Sunday through Friday
Responsibilities
- Maintain pharmacy systems and technology (e.g., inventory systems, automated medication counting machines) by preparing records/reports, monitoring inventory/expiration dates, calibrating machines, applying settings to minimize breakage, replenishing medications using computer/scanner, and troubleshooting issues like jamming
- Maintain and track medication inventory by sorting/placing/storing freight, restocking/replenishing, reporting low stock, ensuring FIFO rotation, performing cycle counts/physical inventories, creating reports, and monitoring for expired pharmaceuticals
- Support facility with reporting and paperwork by entering/modifying data, processing/submitting paperwork, creating/maintaining documentation/communications, resolving discrepancies, preparing reports (e.g., state board testing), and informing management of issues
- Promote pharmacy's reputation and deliver services per laws/policies by assisting pharmacist in prescription fulfillment, stocking/rotating merchandise/supplies, handling claims/returns, completing/securing paperwork, and maintaining safe/clean work environment
- Ensure fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions in an automated central fill process
