Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Active certification in the state of practice within 120 Days
Medication Aide - Active certification in the state of practice within 120 Days
Ability to work specified hours
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
1-3 years Related experience or training (Preferred)
Minimum Age 18

Responsibilities

Provides assistance to residents with activities of daily living
Performs routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff (bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, toileting, serving food, encouraging feeding, answering call lights, maintaining a clean environment, transporting patients, assisting with ambulation, orienting residents)
Performs blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, and weight. Documents information on appropriate forms
Performs or assists residents in performing specific medical care activities (restorative exercises, collecting specimens). Assesses and documents completed cares
Provides feedback to nursing staff on patient conditions, pain management, and other concerns
Assists with restocking supplies and maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Participates in providing emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families
Complies with all aspects of resident rights, including confidentiality and privacy. Reports all allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of resident property
Understanding and following established policy and procedures related to fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, universal precautions, infection control procedures, and hazardous and chemical communication program
Mentors new employees and assists with their orientation
Serves as a lead example to help enforce Avera's CARE standards with co-workers
