  • Experience leading cross-functional, cross-divisional category teams in strategy development and implementation for commodities

  • Capability to drive total cost of ownership improvements via negotiation, contract management, competitive bidding, should/cost analysis, supplier consolidation, VA/VE
  • Knowledge of executing sourcing events and managing RFP processes, including resolving technical/commercial questions
  • Ability to identify and leverage technology innovation from suppliers
  • Proficiency in utilizing analytics and metrics for supplier organization
  • Experience leading Supplier Relationship Management processes
  • Skills in supplier analysis, selection, make/buy decisions, and business transitions
  • Expertise in developing market and category risk reduction strategies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic category objectives for Metals category
  • Lead category strategy, cost reduction initiatives, on-time delivery, quality, supplier performance, supplier rationalization, and supplier relationship improvements
  • Lead cross-functional, cross-divisional category team in strategy development and implementation for assigned commodities
  • Support business objectives by improving supplier relationship management, service, quality assurance, technology advancement via R&D/NPD, risk reduction/mitigation, and lowest total cost of ownership
  • Support development and deployment of Global Metals category strategies
  • Create spend profiles for assigned sub-categories, including detailed purchasing data, supply chain mapping, projected volumes, life-cycle plans, raw materials, secondary operations, and manufacturing processes
  • Negotiate cross-operation network agreements with suppliers (purchasing, development, supply, VMI)
  • Monitor agreements for compliance and drive supplier accountability; partner with legal on contract terms/language
  • Drive year-over-year total cost of ownership improvements through negotiation, contract management, competitive bidding, should/cost analysis, supplier consolidation, and VA/VE
  • Execute sourcing events and manage RFP process, ensuring thorough supplier responses and resolving technical/commercial questions
