Requirements

  • Skills in panel counsel management, including negotiation of rates, conflicts, and creation/oversight of litigation guidelines
  • Capability to develop duty to defend panels and handle non-panel counsel requests
  • Experience in policy endorsements drafting related to counsel management
  • Proficiency in expense management and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate strategic initiatives within the NA Claims organization, ensuring timely deliverables with internal stakeholders
  • Develop and oversee a process for capturing, cataloging, analyzing, and disseminating key information to propagate best practices
  • Develop and improve early career programs, including formalizing specialized onboarding and training regimens to build junior talent pipeline
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to provide high-quality training opportunities for new hires and existing talent
  • Manage and oversee the 16 financial lines panels, including negotiation of rates, conflicts, and creation/oversight of litigation management guidelines per LOB
  • Develop duty to defend panels in collaboration with Head of Financial Lines Claims, underwriting, and product as LOBs shift policies
  • Handle non-panel counsel requests and assist in drafting policy endorsements related to counsel management
  • Actively engage in expense management, oversee initiatives, and identify saving opportunities using internal resources
  • Create and maintain claims shared resources site in collaboration with operations, developing materials on strategic initiatives, guidelines, protocols, trends, and legal developments
  • Manage team projects and initiatives under the guidance of Head of Technical Claims
  • Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
