Candidates should possess a mid-level design background with a strong portfolio demonstrating an understanding of the design craft, including typography, color, layout, and a comfort level designing for print, web, experiential environments, and on-stage live graphics. They should be able to design and deliver projects following creative direction and brand guidelines, execute on a creative direction and come up with new ideas or concepts, think about the future with their designs having a clear sense of scalability and the ability to fit within a system, present work to stakeholders, take feedback graciously, and defend their ideas when needed. A minimum of 3 years of design experience at an agency or in-house is required, along with strong organizational and communication skills for a remote team environment.
The Brand Designer will be responsible for designing a variety of assets (both digital and in print) consistently on brand, ideating, iterating, and refining new brands and visual identity systems, designing within existing brand systems while evolving and refining them when necessary, thinking holistically about the Axios brand and identifying potential issues, updating and contributing to brand guidelines, self-managing projects and navigating ambiguity, communicating with stakeholders and respecting deadlines, collaborating with team members and providing feedback to junior team members, and updating information on landing pages using Webflow.
