Requirements

  • Operational work experience, including strong experience in the management of a technical department
  • An understanding of quality management system, planning and logistics
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement in maintenance, safety, quality and customer service
  • Capacity to build and retain a cohesive and effective operational team
  • Experience in change management, Lean Six Sigma and ISO accreditation
  • Oral and written proficiency in English
  • Computer literate including MS Office
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to our European Support office in the Netherlands

Responsibilities

  • Service-oriented, know how to respond swiftly and efficiently to our customers’ needs
  • Responsible for the motivation, coaching and development of the Scottish team
  • Maximise the efficiency of our service organisation
  • Ensure the timely and cost-effective maintenance and repair of the rental fleet
  • Take responsibility for the delivery, installation and removal of our equipment on clients’ sites
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external QHSE policies
  • Actively contribute to and implement European-wide initiatives
  • Oversee the creation, fit-out and start-up of Scotland’s first United Rentals location for Power and Tools
  • Recruitment and management of the new branch team
