Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, body shop operations, or production launch support
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, standardized work, and quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
  • Basic math and mechanical skills
  • Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area
  • Must be willing to work any shift on a rotational basis
  • No need for immigration sponsorship (must be eligible to work without it)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, coordination, and follow-up for planning programs associated with changes in product, facility, or manpower requirements
  • Work independently under general direction of a supervisor
  • Coordinate and communicate body shop launch activities
  • Support current production teams by setting up launch-related items for future product needs
  • Verify and populate new standardized processes and documentation
  • Support the plant's BPD (Business Plan Deployment) process
  • Support daily operations to achieve SPQRC (Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost) results and identify/implement improvement opportunities
  • Facilitate/participate in departmental Gap Closure Planning activities
  • Communicate between shifts and departments to implement best practices, resolve problems, and sustain performance
  • Coordinate cross-shift activities
  • Promote GM-GMS (Global Manufacturing System) Strategies and act as department GMS principle basketweave representative
  • Coach Group Leaders and Team Leaders on Business Plan Deployment, throughput improvement, and problem solving
  • Facilitate documentation and reporting of feedback measures (downtime, equipment status, responsiveness) and problems
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc
  • Act as the center of communication to/from department and coordinate changes
  • Represent department in activities or committees and communicate to plant Management
  • Support, develop, and promote employee programs (quality, team concept, training, suggestions)
  • Administer GM Quality Strategies within department
  • Coordinate and communicate development of changes to improve department conditions (layouts, routing, tooling, facilities, material)
  • Develop and coordinate department budget requirements
