The Senior Telesales Agent conducts selling activities related to inbound calls inquiring about individual health plan products. This role involves moderately complex to complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The Senior Telesales Agent qualifies prospects, attempts to close sales, and successfully handles consumer calls, which may require the use of an interpreter or TTY service. The role may also involve originating calls from leads. The successful candidate will understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, and begin to influence department strategy. They will make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components and work without direction, exercising considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Requirements

  • Active Health Insurance License: Required
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin: Required (Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in both languages without limitations or assistance)
  • Strong Verbal Communication Skills: Required
  • Ability to Connect Meaningfully with Customers: Required (To build emotional engagement and customer advocacy)
  • Adaptability to Learning New Software/Programs: Required
  • Familiarity with Call Flow Processes and Procedures: Required

Additional Information

  • Language Proficiency Assessment (LPA): Required for associates speaking with members in a language other than English. Applicants must take the LPA in that language(s) and English as provided and required by the Federal Government.
  • Work Schedule: Available and willing to work any shift between 7:00 AM — 2:00 AM, including weekends and overtime during peak season (September - December).
  • Social Security Task: Humana values personal identity protection. Applicants selected for leader review may be asked to provide their social security number, if it is not already on file.
