Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in affordable housing and customer service
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • LIHTC and HOME experience
  • Eager to learn the business and tasks at hand

Responsibilities

  • Process initial, interim and annual recertifications, including notifying residents, conducting interviews, reviewing checklists, sending verification forms to agencies, completing worksheets for vouchers (e.g., Form 50059) and Tax Credit reports (TIC), and obtaining resident signatures
  • Assist Property Management staff with preparing for property reviews by owners, regulatory agencies, auditors, etc
  • Ensure all information is accurate and entered in the Property Management Software; comply with company policies regarding Tax Credit and Resident files
  • Assist with all facets of the move-in process; ensure files comply with regulations of funding/regulatory agencies (e.g., HOME, HIF)
  • Ensure recertifications are fully completed and executed with Property Manager and resident signatures by the due date
  • Ensure proper treatment of residents’ personal and private information in accordance with local, state, and/or federal law
  • Follow the recertification reporting calendar; run and deliver all recertification reports and letters to tenants timely
  • Maintain and manage prospect information in a waitlist in compliance with regulations, including completing guest cards, purging the waitlist, contacting top prospects, and engaging in marketing activities
  • Show vacant apartments, conduct property tours, solidify prospect interest, and pre-qualify applicants by explaining income qualifications and required documentation
  • Assist with PBA, Project Based Section 8, or other subsidy contract renewals, including calculation of utility allowances (HUD Contracts)
  • Perform special assignments as needed
