Requirements

Candidates must possess a university degree in Translation or Applied Languages, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 3 years of experience in translation/localization. Fluency in Bengali as a native speaker and proficiency in English, both written and spoken, are essential. A thorough understanding of the localization process, experience with standard software like Windows and Office, and familiarity with CAT tools such as XTM and SDL Studio, along with issue tracking tools like JIRA, are required. The role also demands excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, strong knowledge of terminology in at least two subject matters, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Candidates should be able to provide constructive feedback, present information effectively, solve practical problems, interpret instructions, and train others, with a willingness to communicate positively with customers at various levels and work within a virtual team.

Responsibilities

The Bengali Linguist will perform translation and copy-edit tasks, providing lead support on assigned projects. Responsibilities include managing and maintaining language materials such as glossaries and Style Guides to ensure quality and up-to-date status, handling project-related queries, and fostering good interaction among team members by resolving terminology and language questions. The role involves developing and training internal linguists and freelancers, participating in the improvement of working processes, meeting productivity KPIs, and achieving goals set by the Squad Lead.
