Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent and two (2) years of responsible employment
  • Experience in Human Services or a related field preferred
  • Become credentialed as a Level 1 Med Aid (LIMA) and be Insulin Certified within the first ninety (90) days in position (for Residential Care Facility (RCF) only)
  • For St. Louis County Programs: Bachelor’s Degree, OR MAADC I or II
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle
  • Must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle (incomplete in description)

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a safe and supportive environment for clients, ensuring their well-being and progress
  • Encourage positive social interaction and adaptive behaviors, fostering a solution-focused approach to challenges
  • Monitor and document client activities, behaviors, and progress, contributing to comprehensive treatment plans
  • Assist in the admission and orientation process for clients, including obtaining vital signs and facilitating necessary screenings
  • Administer medications under supervision, meticulously adhering to all policies and procedures
  • Screen and monitor clients for signs and symptoms of withdrawal, escalating concerns to medical personnel when critical symptoms present
  • Prepare for and facilitate rehabilitative support, education, recovery skills, or recreation groups
  • Provide client transportation to and from appointments as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of client medications and document self-administration or staff administration of medications
  • Ensure adherence to all precaution protocols and proper documentation
