Candidates should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in battery manufacturing or related industries, preferably in lithium-ion battery production, is required. A strong understanding of battery chemistry, materials, and manufacturing processes is essential, along with proficiency in process simulation and optimization tools such as CAD, CAM, and DOE. Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication and collaboration skills are necessary.
The Battery Manufacturing Engineer will develop and optimize manufacturing processes for battery components including electrodes, electrolytes, separators, and casings. They will implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, quality, and yield, and identify and troubleshoot process bottlenecks. The engineer will evaluate and select manufacturing equipment and technologies, develop and execute equipment validation protocols, and collaborate with equipment suppliers. They will establish quality standards, implement quality control procedures, and investigate root causes of quality issues. Additionally, the engineer will ensure compliance with safety regulations, develop safety protocols, collaborate with R&D teams, and maintain comprehensive documentation of manufacturing processes.
