Requirements

  • Ability to proof and bake unfinished bakery goods using ovens and/or other equipment, following product handling information
  • Knowledge of bakery production charts for production, display, and preparation needs
  • Skills in packaging freshly baked goods (e.g., cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, cakes)
  • Ability to unpack goods from freezer, display proper amounts, rotate, and store products per food safety, freshness, and handling policies
  • Capability to receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments
  • Skills in decorating special order or case products
  • Understanding of cleaning and safety standards within the bakery department
  • Commitment to club policies, procedures, compliance, GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate), and team collaboration
  • At least 18 years old for 401(k) eligibility (implied for certain benefits)

Responsibilities

  • Answer questions and recommend bakery items to members
  • Answer member calls and take special orders
  • Proof and bake all unfinished bakery goods following product handling instructions and production charts
  • Gather products for next business day preparation
  • Package freshly baked goods as needed
  • Unpack bakery goods from freezer and display based on production chart recommendations, including safe handling and storage
  • Decorate special order or case products
  • Rotate and store bakery products per food safety, freshness, and handling policies
  • Receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments
  • Maintain all cleaning and safety standards in the bakery department
  • Support flawless execution, accountability, honesty, integrity, and member-focused service
  • Ensure safe, positive, inclusive environment; embrace diversity and teamwork
  • Deliver GOLD club standards daily (e.g., grand opening look, stocked items, promotional plans, accurate signage, clean and organized)
  • Monitor and understand department production/financial performance reporting
