Requirements

The AV Project Engineer must possess a strong understanding of audiovisual, physical security, structured cabling, and wireless solutions, including DAS and WiFi systems. Experience in designing and documenting build packages, as well as field engineering and commissioning of Systems Integration projects, is essential. The role requires the ability to coordinate installations with lead installation technicians and project managers, manage project communications, scheduling, and task lists for technicians, and supervise engineering and CAD processes. A focus on creating workflow efficiencies and adhering to or improving company processes is also necessary. Safety consciousness and the promotion of company core values are paramount.

Responsibilities

The AV Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing and executing the technical design, documentation, and commissioning of Systems Integration projects, reporting directly to the Project Manager. This includes coordinating installations, managing project communications, developing schedules, and creating task lists for technicians. The engineer will supervise CAD and programming, ensure projects are completed on time and within budget with high customer satisfaction, and maintain deep knowledge of assigned projects. Key duties involve facilitating project recapping and budget review meetings, providing AV, RF, sound, conferencing, and network system design services, designing control system functionality, making engineering computations, writing specifications, generating equipment lists and wire labels, verifying site conditions, performing system testing and commissioning, and communicating project updates. The role also includes constant monitoring of labor, equipment, and material budgets, and providing technical and administrative support to project teams.
