Requirements

Candidates must possess over 5 years of experience in health insurance or payer environments, including commercial/private and government sectors, with a strong understanding of reimbursement and revenue cycle management. Expertise in process building, optimization tools, and cross-functional problem-solving is required, along with experience managing direct reports in offshore and/or onshore teams. Preferred qualifications include 1+ years in a high-growth startup, technical fluency with platforms like Google Suite, Zendesk, Salesforce, or EHRs, moderate analytical proficiency, and prior experience managing prior authorization processes.

Responsibilities

The Authorization Manager will report to the Sr. Financial Operations Manager and collaborate with the Verification of Benefits and Insurance AR team to propose process and product changes that ensure patients have necessary authorizations for care. This role is critical in developing and honing Rula's prior authorization function as the company contracts with new payers and adds new plans. The manager will play a pivotal role in developing and refining this function, which is a critical front-end operation for Rula’s revenue cycle.
